A proposito di Second Life…..

In riferimento ai commenti poco “entusiasti” sulla presenza dell’Istituto di Cultura Italiano su Second Life e sulle molteplici critiche piovute addosso al ministro D’Alema… a proposito inoltre delle altrettanti critiche al ministro Di Pietro per l’acquisto di un’isola su SL… mi piace operare alcune riflessioni…
Al di la’ delle considerazioni politiche di ciascuno sull’operato dei ministri e del loro staff, mi sembra piuttosto riduttivo parlare di Second Life come un gioco.. si da’ il caso infatti che si tratta di una piattaforma virtuale tra le piu’ studiate dai ricercatori x le molteplici interazioni con la vita reale…
Sarebbe come dire che Internet ed il Web sono solo un gioco.. ma d’altra parte e’ anche vero che l’inizio del web fu accompagnato da quest’aura di antiquato sospetto….
Il mondo ed il pianeta svolge oramai la sua vita nel reale e nel virtuale, e non e’ un caso come anche la politica si stia spostando nel web in luoghi-non luoghi come YouTube ed altri… Second Life e’ tra questi.. ma probabilmente il digital divide ed una scarsa conoscenza di Internet rendono complicata la comprensione dei mondi virtuali….
Un esempio x tutti: le prime chat erano quasi ad uso esclusivo di coloro che preferivano mantenere l’anonimato x le piccole “trasgressioni” quotidiane.. oggi le chat sono piu’ simili ad un pub, o a dei punti di ritrovo che nulla hanno di secondario ai luoghi del cosiddetto “reale”….
Chiaramente poi ciascuno ci fa quel che vuole in tutti i mondi possibili.. fa parte del sistema democratico…
in fondo c’e’ chi gioca a “scaldare sedie” quotidianamente negli uffici…dunque il virtuale non c’entra… si puo’ giocare (per chi vuole) coi soldi degli altri senza bisogno di andare in Second Life…
Le piattaforme virtuali sono i cosidetti “new media”… tra poco anche la televisione ed il telefono saranno superati.. e Second Life e’ solo una delle punte d’iceberg di questa nuova rivoluzione digitale!

Without my avatar…..

Zeus, Connell Island – Finally I’ve my avatar again!
After 15 hours without.. a terrible experience in Second Life…. After to have introduce yesterday evening the great fashion show of Anubis Hartunian by Anubis Style, in Royal Poinciana, around 1.30 am in Italy, and 4.30 am SLT my avatar became grey… absolutely grey and not able to use inventory and gestures and teleport…
And with my second life that crashed every moment with a window that explained me that I didn’t can to log in up to a certain hour…. yes, a terrible experience when u spend ur money and ur job also in a virtual world!
But, what was the issues? I don’t know up to now… but after lots of my crash reports and some emails to inworld support of Linden Lab, and after 15 hours of troubles (my avatar remained naked in world, too )… my avatar – that is miss Asia Connell – returned to her best form (as u can see in pict )…
Maybe a change of the server where Asia Connell is? With the usual bugs that a change of server means?
I don’t know really, but I can imagine that it isn’t a simple thing for Linden Lab to manage a world of more tha 6 millions of avatars building…
but I think that’s the bet! to make a virtual world for all and working in a good way…
so, I hope well for future and for my sweet avatar – hoping never more grey

Whose the sea is? a letter to people in world…

… oh sure… the question is real not only in a real world… in second life, for example, we have a rule…. in dreamland there was a rule: sea is for all, sea is of all… BUT….
After some months…. sea is closed, lands are closed, not only house, but also sea and sky…
And the question is:
«Is this the world that we want?»
A world where u can think about money and to do money, but not more where u can fly in freedom and sailing in freedom…. so… is this the second life that we want?
A world where, when u want a boat u buy a boat.. but where u cannot use it coz sea is closed by all owners…
Why, so may I ask, why gentle owners u feel this impulse to close sea and sky? U, owners, have never thought about a real world where u cannot walk around coz u are ejected far away?
No, dear governor Linden and dearest owners, this isn’t a good way to make a new world!
